Are Ligers real? I first asked myself that question when my teenage daughter brought home a really funny movie called Napolean Dynamite. My daughter had borrowed the movie from one of her friends and I walked in on the movie about 5 minutes after the start. I was shocked by what I had seen, the movie made absolutely no sense at all. I thought I had missed some important scene that would tie the whole movie togethor, so I watched it again and after about 10 minutes into it I realized that I hadn't missed anything important.

Over the next few months my friends at work and I would quote scenes from the movie. Some of our favorites are:
Ligers are bred for their skills and magical powers
The local gangs are always trying to recruit me because of my bowstaff skills
Friggin idiot... gawd

One day I was watching a program on Nova with my two young boys (Rod and Lex) that was about a really cool animal Oliver the Humanzee, and the documentary spent about 5 minutes on... you guessed it Ligers. I was like LIGERS ARE REAL... wow, that's cool.

So I was talking about Ligers at work a couple of weeks later and this dude I work with Matt didn't believe in Ligers. So I thought I would search the web and find proof of Ligers. I found a link to a place in Pine Mountain Georgia called the Animal Safari.

I had to see the Ligers myself and I had to ask the people at the zoo if they breed Ligers for their magical powers.
